Ken Shilkun's Diet plan

The secrets to success:
- Bulky foods - or fluffy, low calorie dense foods to fill the paunch. Squash, Cabbage, Lightly steamed fresh cut Spinach, Carrots and Iceberg Lettuce are good bulk foods that keep the stomach busy longer.
- Flavor is important. We spend a lot of time looking at the spice rack and fresh herb section of the store. There are a lot of calorie free tasty items to add. pleasing to your tongue and nose are important.
- Maybe the word "Fast" is to prejudicial. How about "Low Calorie day" or "Fast Food Atonement day." Yea... I like the last one! Make it a quasi religious thing!
- Food preparation helps fill in the time between meals. Shopping, planning, cutting, weighing, stirring... helps fill the time when you are thinking of food.
- So... you overshoot on the calories. Well don't do it! But if you do put on the neon colored running shoes and walk! 1 mile = 80 calories for women 100 calories for men. If you do the walk on "Fast Food Atonement day" the burn will work on that old fat deposit.
- Fast Two: Eat Reasonably Four! Two days a week, you eat nothing. Well 600 Calories for men 500 Calories for Women. It is about 1/3 the amount need for the day. You can eat one normal meal, which averages 500 to 600 Calories, but I advise against it. You will get incredibly hungry. The Pyloric Nerve, in your stomach, will drive you crazy. Instead, eat three 200 Calories for the day. (women, 100, 200, 200 calorie meals).
Why do It?
There is a lot of evidence that caloric restriction leads to a longer healthier life.
- The great depression's food shortages, led to an increase in life expectancy
- Mice and rat studies show diet restricted critter live longer
- Fat is an important organ in your body. A healthy amount (not to much, not to little) will show improvements in blood chemistries.
It takes a bit of time for your stomach to shrink. Well, it probably does not shrink but it seems to. A smaller stomach stays full longer and keeps your Pyloric Nerve at bay. It takes a while to adjust... Yes, it does get easier
